Ongawi
Pinarello's 1st and Only MTB!
story by proud owner, Dan.

Ongawi.
Dan Heinen here. This is an update on my Caramba Double Barrel crank.
They were originally going on my Klein Attitude Race but things changed.
They found there home on a 1990 Pinarello Antelao. It only seemed fair
to put them on something just as rare (probably more rare). I picked up
the frame and fork from Jeff Archer www.firstflightbikes.com. It was hanging
on his wall in his mountain bike museum. It is NOS, Columbus Nivacrom
Off-Road tubing, investment cast throughout, including bottom bracket
shell, and fork crown. Gitabike (the importer for Pinarello) has only
seen a handful of these. This would be Pinarello's first and only mountain
bike. Apparently it cost to much to put them on the market so they didn't
last long.
A special crank for a special bike.
They look good together don't you think? The wheelset will be going back
on my Klein. I'm building the Pinarello with NOS components that were
orignal spec for the bike minus the Caramba. I won't be riding this bike
when completed. It will hang on the wall.
Sincerely,
Dan
