The 2010 Race Season Begins!
Mount Austin, Johor Baru 30th,31st Jan 2010.There are two major developments in the state of mountainbiking in Malaysia today. One is that we are now seeing now a respectable increasing number of mountainbikers turning to the darker side of gravity racing. When this group of enthusiasts get their acts together nationwide, we have our very own Malaysian MTB Downhill Super Series (MDHSS) brought to you by the Malaysian Downhill Association (MDHA), a mish-mash of biking tribes across the country. Racers in this super series will be ranked accordingly with our own UCI style points and ranking sytem to keep things competitive. On top of all this racing, we have the hardworking guys from ELEMENT in Johor Baru pushing the envelope last weekend organising the 1st of the MDHSS race, The Mt Austin Downhill Challenge, on a brand new super technical race track. Racers were all full of praise for the race course and most were rewarded with beautiful crash rashes to take home. ELEMENT's race has established itself as THE race to beat for future race organisers in terms of the world class race organisation, electronic timing system and not forgetting the 5 star accomodation for interstate racers and the pre-race 5-star banquet at the Mt Austin Golf Resort ballroom! The TT events in Kiara proved successful last year and so we have decided to fix the dates to make it less ad hoc. More fun and friendly competition for riders who want to hang out and test their mettle in a friendly atmosphere set in the best single track environment in Kuala Lumpur. [ Updates
