Phil's KL Biking Movie - Part 5While making this movie and writing the script with Pat, I asked him what his favourite trail is up in Bukit Kiara. Out of all the dozens of superb tracks, Sungai was his choice. So this segment is dedicated purely to one of the toughest, yet most beautiful trails on the hill. Hand-built by Pat, the track utilises many natural features and blends in perfectly with it's environment.
Video by Phil Bee and Pat Brunsdon. A small, select group of MTB riders were the pioneers of biking in Bukit Kiara during the 1990's. Of this group, Patrick Brunsdon and his wife were instrumental in creating and maintaining the trail network which we all enjoy today. This short video presents the history of the Bukit Kiara mountain bike trails, as written, and narrated by Pat himself. Many thanks, & credits to Chuen Ling Lee for the archive footage.
Trail Notes is a collection of stories capturing the lifestyles of passionate mountainbikers from the Southern Hemisphere Mecca of Rotorua New Zealand and the infamous trails of the Whakarewarewa forest. The film follows four unique individuals and showcases their stories of how mountainbiking captivated their lives and what has drawn them to the sport and the intoxicating location of the forest. Each of these interconnected stories creates a tapestry of the local scene that mimics the winding trails. These stories of personal battles, commitment and passion to the sport of mountainbiking, illustrate both the individual and collective culture that these trails breed.www.trailnotesfilm.com

Phil's KL Biking - Part 1 (of 10)An introduction, and a blast round one of our regular short rides in Bukit Kiara.
You may or may not be aware that I have left Malaysia for a while. (And depending on how long you've been involved with the MTB scene, you may or may not even know who I am, or care). Regardless, I would like to take a moment to thank those of you who have made the last 9 years a very special time in my life, and to leave all of you with some parting thoughts.
Awesome hardtail shredding by Remek Oleszkiewicz!
The Fences at Bukit Kiara are up. It is disturbing to note that half of Bukit Kiara belongs to private owners. The key question is whether the private owners will now take steps to commercialize their side of the fence. Since Bukit Kiara has been designated a green lung, the private owners should display magnanimity by not developing their side of the fence. We cannot imagine a situation where walkers and joggers have to bear with the noise, pollution and clatter coming from the condos, shopping malls, etc just next to the jogging trail. Can we continue to enjoy the peace, quiet and tranquility of Bukit Kiara? Not if the private owners develop their land. This video is to heighten the awareness of the public who use the jogging trail at Bukit Kiara of what is going on and urge them not to support any move to develop the land on the other side of the fence.
