An Uneventful June

Its been a quiet month of June, not there hasn't been any races around the region but more so none that were worth traveling to. There was an urban race in a mall in Johor on the first week of the month but most of us at DFak prefer dirt underneath our tires, just doesn't feel right racing dh in an urban environment. Another round of the Indonesian National series went underway this weekend which turned out to be quite the pedal fest, times coming close to the 4 minute mark for mere mortals. Next weekend is the Cikole round of the national, really looking forward to that. It a bit of a different track to what dh race tracks are, but has a huge amount of flow, really high speed and just all round good fun.

Even tho its been quiet on the surface, there has been quite a lot going on with DFak. Sometimes you have to do things that aren't directly related to riding, check out 8tv on Monday 11pm for an interview with the team. Tuesday morning on RTM 2 for the breakfast show, there is some good riding footage on that one. Also one more for NTV7 which might be out this Friday, watch this space.

The lapse in racing (or more so the lapse in races we wanted to attend) this month has given us time to get our heads down and put in some proper training. Aaron getting pretty rapid with the XC boys round the Kiara carnival route. Back in Penang the haze hasn't slowed things down either, getting my ass schooled by the locals on Penang Hill. Yes, there are riders who are more 'local'  than i am on some of the Penang trails. :)

Speaking of Kiara, head over to www.facebook.com/TraksOfMalaysia and give them a like, the more people on that page, the louder our voice in stopping the destruction of our beloved Kiara. Every little helps so don't just sit back and let the powers at hand have their way.

On more racing news, the world cup is on tonight at 2am on live.redbull.tv go and check it out, we have 3 rides to cheer for, Mio Suemasa, Junya Nagata & Kazuki Shimizu. Sure they are Japanese but its awesome having some Asian riders to cheer for! At the end of the day we are all in the same boat, kinda.

Check back next week for news on the Cikole race!
