Trail Day: Magic Carpet 19/5/12 8am

Hi guys,
I'm sure by now you have all tried out the new Magic Carpet section, enjoyed its nice flowy lines in both directions. Now its the time to show the trail some love. We've identified a few parts on the trail that needs to be rebuilt and/or reinforced, so its time for a trail day.

When - Saturday 19/5/12 8am - 12am (Sorry its not a Sunday, I'm tied up on Sunday)
Where - At the start of Magic Carpet trail
What to bring - Order of the day calls for cangkuls and rakes, plus work gloves to protect your hands. If you don't have any tools, contact me directly for an alternate meeting point and time to get you equipped. Sturdy shoes are recommended - no selipar Jepun or flip flops please. And of course mozzie repellent and enough water and trail snacks to get you through a four hour work session.

We will brief on what needs to be done on the day itself, but in general it will involve playing with dirt. Please be punctual, you'll miss the briefing if you don't and we will waste time to get you up to date on what needs to be done.

You can contact me at riza.shaharudin at gmail.com to confirm attendance or if you have any questions.

That would be great Megat.

Extra note - we need about 5-10 confirmed volunteers. That should be enough to finish the work required within the time frame.

Thanks to the guys who turned up. Didn't think we would get the numbers at first, but in the end we got enough people to finish what we wanted. Thanks to Lee Puh Heng and wife, Debbie, Paul Lee, Megat, Jeffery, Flintstone, Gerald Tan, Stan, Julian and those trail runners who dropped by to give support. I hope I didn't miss anyone.

Magic Carpet got the loving it needed. Please be careful at the newly maintained sections as its not fully compacted yet.

I did a high speed inspection of your handiwork yesterday afternoon as part of my last ride through Kiara before I leave. Nicely done, a tip of the hat to all who took part.

I hope that all of you continue to pitch in and help when it's needed, whether it is trail work, rubbish collection, signing petitions or a show of participation for events like the time trials and orienteering. There is strength in numbers, and that is going to be important as Kiara evolves.

Good luck to all of you.
